Standard For Success Staff Feature

Each month, we will feature a staff member from our team of former and current educators who have 20-30 years of experience apiece. Our team’s commitment to customer service is as foundational to Standard For Success as the software itself. Our clients know that when they have a question or an idea they want to explore, our team is easily accessible and always responsive.

This month, SFS features Robbie Grimes

Whether it’s helping learners understand the collaborative   power  of Google Apps for Education, building lessons in a school’s learning management system, or helping students, teachers, and parents recognize the importance of Digital Citizenship, Robbie Grimes’ passion lies in helping children and adults become better learners and consumers of information through the use of technology. Additionally, Robbie believes that to be successful, learners must have the “knowledge to use and the ability to choose” the most relevant resources when it comes to learning, and high quality professional development and training is key to that success!

A champion for all things EdTech, Robbie spent 15 years at Brownsburg Schools as a classroom teacher and integration specialist, and for the past seven years has served as the eLearning Specialist for Wayne Township Schools. He is a co-owner of the educational technology consulting team, EdTechZone, and as a result has helped numerous schools navigate their way toward transforming their classrooms into technology rich learning spaces. Robbie is also a co-owner of Standard For Success, an online teacher evaluation and management tool.

Robbie began his educational journey at Miami University with a B.S. in Elementary Education. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology and Curriculum from Indiana University. In addition, he received  recognition for his impact in education including being a TechPoint Mira Awards Finalist for Education Contribution to Technology, a Bright House Star Teacher Award Winner, an IPL Golden Apple Award Winner, and he has been recognized as a Google for Education Trainer.

Robbie has been blessed to share his life with his best friend, Denise, for 22 years. They have two daughters, Courtney 19, and Jadyn 16, and two sons, Bradyn 6, and Micah 3. Robbie and Denise are foster parents and adoptive parents, and they have built a family-based Christian ministry for over ten years. They have released 4 CDs of original music, produced a children’s DVD series, and published a devotional book and CD for the family. They currently serve at their local church and are enjoying the most recent addition to the family, an Australian Shepherd named Charlie. In his free time, Robbie enjoys coaching soccer, riding his bike with the family, playing guitar, and on a beautiful summer day, sitting on the bank of a lake casting a fishing pole and catching smallmouth bass.
