Gearing up for new ideas & best practices for teacher performance at AASA 2017
With 2016 behind us, you’ve no doubt been thinking about how to make the year ahead better than the last. With that in mind, we’re excited to meet fellow educators, share ideas and best practices for teacher performance at the AASA 2017 National Conference on Education, hosted by the School Superintendents Association on March 2-4, 2007 in New Orleans.
Billed as the largest professional development and networking event for school superintendents and administrators, AASA 2017 will focus on seven areas:
- Common Core standards and assessments
- Superintendent/School Board relationships
- Personalizing education
- Instructional leadership
- Innovative technology
- Healthy school environments
Among this year’s presenters is our own Todd Whitlock, founder of Standard For Success, and a seasoned educator. Todd was selected to lead a roundtable on “Using Teacher Evaluation Data to Drive Professional Growth,” slated for March 2nd, 2:45 p.m. CST. That discussion will focus on how to build a comprehensive, real-time teacher evaluation program that fosters continuous growth for both teachers and students, without adding to the heavy load your staff already carries.
How roundtable sessions will work:
- You’ll join up to seven peers for an intimate session with a presenter, lasting 30 minutes.
- At the end of 30 minutes, you’ll move to another table and join another group of participants for another session.
- Approximately 13 sessions will take place at the same time, in the same room.
Are you coming to AASA 2017? What do you hope to take away from the conference?
In any case, will you take a moment to share below what causes you most concern, doubt or frustration regarding teacher performance management? Thanks in advance for your input.
